"INTERACTING WITH TECHNOLOGY"
A practical course for working with technology in language teaching.
PREPARATION
In preparation for "Interacting with technology" participants will be given access to our MOODLE where a complete pre-evaluation and assessment of training needs takes place. Both previous experience and expectations will be taken into account. Through joining this virtual community of teachers, applicants will have access to virtual on-line training as well as a tool to get to know each other and plan their trip. In addition to the preparatory work of participants, Interacting will provide:
- Information on how to obtain grants and how to fill out application forms
- Information on payment schedule
- Programme of course content and timetable
- Detailed information on location of course from local Tourist Board
- Access to our MOODLE VLE on website www.interacting.info
- Organisation of accommodation
- Organisation of cultural activities during the course
OBJECTIVES
The aims of the course are : to develop confidence in the use of new technologies, to introduce and explore a range interactive tools, to provide guidance on e-safety and safeguarding, to experience the approaches and tactics that work in the classroom and remotely.
The objectives of the course are to equip teachers, language support workers, teacher trainers and others with the skills to : upload course content onto the MOODLE VLE; conduct a remote conference with a group; prepare learning "challenges" based on new IT tools
METHODOLOGY
Using "Interacting" methodology and active learning the course will be delivered through a series of workshops, tapas (short learning events with simple goals to reinforce use of technology), demonstrations, theatre, experimentation, team exercises and tasks, competition and challenges, debate and reflection. All materials will be available virtually on the learning platform.
FOLLOW-UP
Interacting provides a "Backstage" area open to all participants, access to a Virtual Learning Environment for pre course activity and follow up, a peer network of fellow teachers and updates and invites on future possible partnerships both real and virtual. An opportunity to explore e-twinning opportunities and transnational partnerships with the groups of people who have already worked on these courses.
