CULTURAL CONNECTIONS

Using museums and cultural institutions as tools for English language learning
(For English Language Learners – intermediate - advanced learners)

ARITISTS have inspired learning for centuries. We bring our teachers out of the classroom and into the museum. During this interactive teacher training participants will explore art works and cultural artifacts while increasing their vocabulary, building confidence and enhancing their listening and communication skills. We use hands-on materials, including games and activities, to motivate group dialogue and spontaneous conversation through the natural, creative and expressive desire to learn and share ideas.

Teachers participating in Cultural Connections will be immersed in an English speaking environment and led by professional museum educators committed to engaging students in creative, meaningful and inspiring museum visits. We will address practical language issues such as grammar, pronunciation, regional variations and socio-cultural influences.
