”PLAYMASTER ONE MADRID”
Preparation
Interacting’s pre-departure programme for the Playmaster course will invite participants to sign up on the Interacting MOODLE and complete a basic training programme prior to arrival. On the MOODLE pre-evaluation and assessment of training needs takes place. Participants are requested to provide documentation relevant to ongoing projects using drama.
Objectives
Playmaster One is designed for teachers who have completed an Interacting course or can demonstrate advanced knowledge or practice of using drama as a resource. The aim of this course refine and update the resource base of teachers already using theatre and play in their teaching. The course represents the next step called for by many teachers who have mastered the basic skills of our Play to Learn and Making Sense courses. As well as advanced and applied games the course will address project management, CLIL, drama clubs, and language theatre sports. The course will also cover areas such as games and curriculum, and the essence of the game, looking at rules, competition and the role of the referee.
Methodology
Based on the Interacting logo 'Laugh While You Learn' the modus operandum of this course involves playing games. Through playing we identify the mechanisms behind successful games and through play establish models of good practice. PLAYMASTER ONE will examine the use of the stopwatch, the use and abuse of points and knock out systems, the role of the judge and dynamics of teams and styles of leadership. From the theory we move to the application, working with CLIL and ITC and satisfying curriculum, The course works through play, group work and forums, lectures, demonstrations of projects in progress and the opportunity to test with select groups of students.
